Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar

Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar

Minted between 1916 and 1947, and with a denomination of $0.50, the Walking Liberty half dollar is widely considered to be the most beautifully designed silver coin in American coinage.

The design, by Adolph A. Weinman, features Lady Liberty holding an olive branch on the coins obverse, and a perching bald eagle on the reverse of the coin.

Since 1986, Weinman's obverse design has been used for the American Silver Eagle Bullion coin.

The metal composition of the Silver walking Liberty is 90% silver, 10% copper, and its total weight is 12.5 grams.
